and for finding information about children and health

Below are a few suggestions about where you might find help for your children, your family, or yourself.

  • HealthyChildren.org from the American Academy of Pediatrics provides a wealth of information on children’s health and development.
  • Find Help Mid-Michigan can help you find many resources from medical care to transportation to housing and more.
  • Genesee Health Plan can help with getting Medicaid, Healthy Michigan, and other health plans.  It also offers some health services and supports itself.
  • The Genesee County Health Department provides services including immunizations, hearing and vision screening, and a number of other services.

  • The US Census, particularly the American Community Survey, has a wide variety of information at many geographic levels.
  • The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services provides data in various formats.  Some places to start are
    • Data tables for the state, by county, and by city.  Here are Genesee County’s, and here are Flint’s.
  • Here is a link to Michigan’s Health Statistics gateway.
  • MI School Data contains the state’s school information data.
